KENT'S CARP IS COUNTRY'S BIGGEST
Thriving in Conningbrook Lake in Willesborough, Two Tone has taken on the prestigious title of the country's biggest carp since the death of a carp called Benson in early August 2009.
Two Tone was introduced into the lake in 1982 and has been putting on average 2lbs a year. Catching Two Tone in August 2002 was the highlight of Lee Jackson's fishing career. "He was the fish of a lifetime", Lee said.
Remembering the event he said: "It was dark and probably the most misty I'd ever been fishing. It was quite eerie and at 5 o'clock in the morning I was tussling with this fish".
There are only 30 fish in the lake, which is about a fish per acre. Chris Logsdon Manager of Mid Kent Fisheries explained the reasons for the lake to be stocked so lightly: "I want to protect the record carp, it's a very, very special creature".
